There's a store here in town but they never have what you want or need for hair care. There are a few select stores in the surrounding parishes but the majority of the people living here do not have transportation, so that means you have to settle for what in the stroe in town has or just don't get your hair done at all, most of the time you have to pay someone to take you out of town to get the beauty supplies you need. And the money that is use on gas to go should have been spent on something else. How do I get money to start a small beauty supply store in a small town?
you might want to look into a loan at the local bank and see if you qualify for one.How do I get money to start a small beauty supply store in a small town?
wait !!! before you take out a loan, the government has grants for women to start business'.
just go to yahoo and enter government grants for women. you will be surprised how much help is out there. and the best part about a grant is that you don't have to pay it back. you can use the money for anything you need to start your business.
i wish you luck with this i think you will be successful.
Why not start small by stocking the most needed item for a few friends, then expand with any profit you make. Explain to them you need to make a profit to solve your common problem and they will probably oblige you.
find a venture capitalist who you can pitch your idea to and who'll finance your store
because Ivy said so
Look into a small business loan. Women apparently have a better chance of getting them than men do.
look for a small business loan. try www.capitalone.com they might have something for u if you dont have alot of credit.
You're onto a good idea. My wife operates a barber shop, we've been in that business for years, and I've thought about this myself. I have to warn you, though, that it's a messy business because you won't have the free rein you think you will.
Product producers will oftentimes only sell products through salesmen. You won't be allowed to carry some lines. Other producers want you carrying only their products and not those of competitors. You're pretty much at the mercy of the way the product producers and they way they insist you do business. In your mind you're seeing this great need and you want to provide everyone the products they want with a good selection at a good price all in one local store. I applaud that idea. But.....you have to take on and fight the whole damn health and beauty care industry and the way they do business to make it happen. The way it's set up now quashes little people like you with this idea. It's a good idea, but it's been tried before and has failed over and over. Even Sally Beauty supply, as big as they are, has a hard time treading water in this business. There are a lot of products they can't stock. Barnum can stock more, but Barnum can only sell to licensed cosmetologists and barbers. There are a lot of controls in sales in this business.
If you can make it work, though, you'd be the Sam Walton of the beauty industry. Somebody will do it someday, given the way globalization works. Will it be you?
