What is the appropriate size enclosure for an adult Taiwan Beauty Ratsnake?

I'll be building an enclosure for a Taiwan Beauty Ratsnake and have read and heard a few different suggestions on minimum dimensions. These range from 50g tanks to 6' x 2' x 2'. That's quite the range! What would be most appropriate? The tanks will be built as displays, but the snake will eventually be bred.
