What is it that determines beauty? What factors are attributed to beauty?

I am speaking of physical attractiveness. Answer with anything, from evolutionary biology, to what your mom told you as a kid. What is it that determines beauty? What factors are attributed to beauty?
You must read ';survival of the prettiest'; to know the science of beauty. Beauty is actually not in the eye of the beholder. They have done studies on this and across all race and culture certain features are considered beuatiful. For female: hour glass figure, nicely shaped eyes, model oval like angular face, cheekbones, full lips, small jaw + chin, and they even have the distance and symmetry measured. For male: masculine angular face, squaresh jaw, nice eyes, the v - figure. Even though some people have unique preference for certain features, in general what is considered good looking is based on the same standards. (cultures varies somewhat with ideal weight, tone of skin)What is it that determines beauty? What factors are attributed to beauty?
It's when a person takes care of themselves and looks like themselves...it's such a shame when people let themselves go and stop caring or over do themselves (keep it basic)

...but it is usually based on the your own preference

everyone has different opinions about beauty although when i meet someone i know is hateful, they are ugly, like when i see them even if others think they're pretty those mean people are monsters to me and if someone is very nice, humble and has a good heart they are beautiful, sorry if it's a bit cliche but that's how i see it.
beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Everybody has their own oppinions of what is beautiful
Physically: Symmetry of face; tall, slim, proportional figure; skin tone with no blemishes, freckles, or acne; full set of hair; glittering eyes; and dimples.
You question is very subjective.

Art classes love to try to define it, but the old saying ';Beauty is in the eye of the beholder'; is absolutely true!

I have seen tribes of people living in isolated conditions on islands in the Indian Ocean that TOTALLY disagree with ANY of our western concepts of beauty.

All the teachings about the subject you may get from your teachers in art appreciation or other ';intellectual'; courses of study CAN NOT BE APPLIED in those societies, so they are not TRUE in the absolute sense.

I stand by the old saying - - - ';Eye of the Beholder';!
healthy appearence...facial semitry and angles...hygene...demeanor
