Do women and men have different beauty standards?

I say that because women will point out what women they think are ugly, but the same women they think are ugly some men find attractive.

women make up all this rubbish about overweight women being ';real women'; and saying ';i am not fat i am just curvy';. it makes them feel better about attributes of themselves that are conventionally unattractive to sugar coat them somehow.





whereas men are brutally honest which is better then lying but sometimes they need to keep it zipped and not say anything.


women are not really going achieve anything from hearing about how ugly they are. i am not exactly a beauty and i have had some comments from men which have done me no good to hear. I dunno b/c haha LOL! is a perfect example of this. what can sarah jessica parker do to change her face? so why point it out unless you expect her to be able to do something about it?





at the end of the day what can i do about my appearence? nothing





so why mention it other then for the purpose of wanting to get me upset?





and why should i have to change myself to please them? what would i achieve? probably just more unwanted attention because as well as being called ugly, i don't want to think of myself as some random bloke's w*nk fantasy. both seem just as unpleasant as one another.





you can't win. so i just say f*ck people. who cares about pleasing anyone? because many are just going to find something to pick at or do something you don't like no matter what you do or who you are.Do women and men have different beauty standards?
You are right about that but it also goes the other way too.





No man in his right mind likes that horse faced woman from Sex and the City. We all think she's a horse-faced ugo. I don't know if it's Sarah Jessica-Parker or who but horse-faced should say it all.





Now, any woman who talks of her is going to say she is beautiful. And she is going to tell you you are ';wrong'; if you disagree. I think it has to do with:





A) who they identify with - those they identify with are therefore more attractive.


B) evening things out. So they have to be unimpressed with women who might be more attractive than them. And they have to make too much about the women not as attractive. This keeps their feelings of jealousy/guilt in check.

I could post a girl here with huge breasts, a perfect body and a gorgeous feminine face, men would absolutely love her but females would be more jealous than anything
